Golf: A Power Game

10/1/2014

Golf has become very much a power game played by athletes who cross train to develop explosiveness. Training for golf is also necessary to recover from the repetitive nature of the swing. Golfers of all levels strive for the big drives and at the same time need to stay healthy and prevent injuries.

The evolution of the core grip was from a simple handle that morphed over time into an ergonomic grip with a stainless steel core and complete swivel hooks on each end. This allows for very unique hand and wrist positions along with exercises not possible with a simple handle. The Core Grip places the hands in the correct position for golf and acts to give feedback when too much weight is being used. A players hands will break free to indicate too much resistance in a particular exercise. The swivels on each end prevent the cables from doubling back and allow for movements that would otherwise be awkward.

Speed is the ultimate factor for distance, but speed without stability is useless. Especially in golf, it is impossible for a player to swing in balance at high velocities if there is not a solid foundation. Use of the Core Grip on a regular basis with just a few simple exercises will build incredible stability and ultimately allow for explosive power. Whether in conjunction with the Total Gym or freestyle with resistance bands,
this accessory is just what you need hit the ball longer and straighter!
